Canada, U.S. extend border restrictions until June 21

Canada and the U.S. agree to keep the border closed to non-essential travel until June 21. These restrictions are not applicable to commercial vehicles. The decision to further extend border closure will be made closer to June 21.

The death of George Floyd sparks global protest movement

On May 25 George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was arrested by Minneapolis police officers for being accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill. Mr. Floyd was pinned to the ground for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, dying in police custody. Mr. Floyd’s death has sparked a global protest movement on anti-racism and systemic oppression. In Canada, these organizations support Black and vulnerable communities.
